Writing was really juvenile, which isn't always a turn off but by halfway through the book I was lost as it felt like this was a rough draft of a story rather than a fully fleshed out book...At some point there is an apparent editing note, just stuck in at the end of a chapter as though it's part of the story: "What happens after Liam goes to talk to Elissa? You need a scene between them. Show them working through the issue of the money and her finally admitting the truth to him" and then that scene does not exist, so a note that wasn't taken or a reminder to add something in that didn't get done? I really like the idea of the story - but no description, all dialogue and the dialougue is choppy. Anyway I hope the writing style gets better, I think the ideas are good. Finding Ms. Wrong had potential, but I honestly think that perhaps one of Susan Warner's drafts was uploaded to Amazon by accident. There were multiple editorial notes in the text, as well as a lot of loose ends that were never explained. For instance,***SPOILER***Did Liam and Elissa date in college or did Elissa just have a crush on him? (The text had multiple references to both.) What was "the bet?" (We keep hearing about a bet that Liam made about Elissa, but it was never explained.)***END SPOILER***Also, it seemed every other chapter Elissa wanted Liam to kiss her or she wanted to get away from him? Elissa could have wavering feelings, I understand that, but explain the reasoning why she wavers each time.And then, of course, we have the small details like Liam was wearing a towel outside a hotel that was later described as a robe. Consistency is key!!***SPOILER***Also, who the heck marries a billionaire and asks for only $80,000? If Liam knew her at all, he would understand that she was probably not asking for herself. And $80,000 is chump change to Liam anyway!And why wouldn't Elissa know how old Liam was if they went to school together?***END SPOILER***OK, enough of the bad stuff. As I said, I think this could be a very clever book with all the small-town women conspiring for or against Elissa and Liam. I hope author Susan Warner takes a close look and fixes things up in the text!
